Christmas RecipesHey! Christmas is closer than you think. And I thought I’d hook you up with some great Christmas Recipes to get you started. I love looking at Christmas Recipes way before Christmas. I like to decide what recipes I would like to use and I try to pick up most of the ingredients ahead of time, so I can avoid the Christmas rush. I make a list of some of the things I will be needing, and if I see it on sale I get it. Flour, nuts, chocolate chips can all be stored in the freezer. Just pop them in a freezer baggie and toss them in the freezer.
Cooking is one of my favorite things to do at Christmastime. I love surprising my family with homemade cookies and wonderful meals. My sister is so busy, she just loves a home cooked meal. And it is a tradition in my family to make goodies every year, so I am always on the lookout for something new and special to surprise them with, as well as the old family favorites.
I always make an oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and walnuts. Also peanut butter cookies with peanuts and peanut butter chips are a favorite too. Last year we used cake mixes!! We were a little short on money and all the good cake mixes were insanely cheap. So we improvised! These were some of the best cookies we have ever made. We added butter, milk and one egg to the mix and kept it like cookie dough. Delicious. They have so many varieties of cake mixes now that you will never run out of ideas for cookies!
