Don’t Forget The Salad
I love using salad as a base for many dishes. Just making a beautiful salad with lots of fresh veggies, adding a homemade dressing and then topping it with spaghetti, or some type of roasted meat, such as roast beef, chicken or fish is so delicious! Many people don’t like to mix their hot food with their salad because of some family tradition that says to keep your salad separate. Many fancy restaurants serve wilted greens with many of their meals, so give it a try.
I love taco salad. Cooking the meat up with some taco packet seasonings and tomato sauce and letting it simmer, whets the appetite of anyone within smelling distance. While the meat is simmering, grate some cheese, slice olive, chop tomatoes, and wash and shred the lettuce. My family loves to use Fritos corn chips, but I like the blue corn tortilla chips. Yummmy. My tummy is grumbling now!
I love mixing a strong vinegar based salad with a heavy meat and vegetable spaghetti sauce. I don’t like too much pasta, I prefer a good garlic bread and a little paremesaun cheese. I always add cayenne pepper to all my foods like other people add salt and pepper to taste. I make sure to add it to my own serving though because I tend to put too much for my family’s taste.
