Sweet and Sour Pork Sauce
My daughter and I made a wonderful Chinese Feast today. One of the dishes we made was so delicious I just had to tell you how we made it.
- 1 Can Apricots
- 1 Can Pineapple Chunks
- 2 tbs. chopped fresh ginger
- 2 cloves finely chopped garlic
- 1/2 Cup Chopped onion
- 1 chopped bell pepper
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced carrot slivers
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbs sesame oil
- 2 tbs tapioca starch stirred into 1 cup cold water
Add everything (except the bell pepper and the tapioca starch with water) to a sauce pan and cook until boiling and then lower heat to simmer. Throw in the bell pepper and let it cook for 5 minutes, then add the tapioca water. Serve over any type of pork you desire If you have to have the traditional pink color, you may add some maraschino cherry juice and even some of the cherries.
